PAGE EIGHT West Dorms Begin Sunday Entertainment The West Dorms entertainment committee presented the first in a series of. weekly programs Sun day afternoon in the main lounge. Edward Tomaszewski, resident counselor and entertainment di rector acted as master of cere monies. The program included accor dian selections by Robert Kokat, acrobatics by Gayle Thrush, a Charleston act by Ronald Ever ling and Libby George, hillbilly numbers played on the ukulele by Joseph Hastings, a piano solo by Sugi Lasker, “The Lord’s Prayer” sung by Vicki Kaiser, and an original piano composi tion by Robert Stephens. Dean McCreight and Everett Williams, guests from Lock Ha ven State Teachers College, also sang. Accompanied by Robert Ste phens, McCreight sang “One Alone” and “The Blue Room.” Williams, a deep baritone, sang “Lucky Old Sun,” “Deed I Do,” and the Negro spirituals, “No body Knows the Troubles I’ve Seen” and “Bless This House.” Tomaszewski is seeking skit writers, dancers, musicians, ma gicians, and singers for a program Nov. 4. The entertainments are not restricted to residents of the- West Dorms and anyone may par ticipate. Applicants are asked to fill out a form at the main lobby desk or to contact Tomaszeski, exten sion 2272. . Leonides Heads To Be Elected Leonides, independent women’s organization, will hold elections for the office of president and vice president from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday. Elections are being held to fill the offices left vacant when presi dent Doris Sher transferred to the University of Tennessee, and vice president Alice Hennessey resigned. Nominees for president are Ed na Baylson and Vivian Peterson. Candidates for vice-president are Betty Johnson and Janet Mag rini. * ■ Posters with pictures of the nominees will be placed in the women’s dormitories. The elec tions committee, with Muriel Am sel as chairman,' will supervise the voting at the ballot boxes. Two Professors Added to Staff Dr. William N. Leonard, head of the department of economics and commerce, announced yester day that Dr. Howard A. Cutler, assistant professor and assistant to the dean of the College of Commerce and Business Adminis tration at the University of Illin ois, and Dr. Nathan Belfer, as sistant director of the research department of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union, have been named as new faculty •members.
