PAGE TWO Ground Broken for New Hillel Representatives of the College and student body spoke at the ground breaking ceremonies of the new B'nai B'rith Foundation Sunday afternoon at Highland avenue and Locust lane. 'Builds Character'—Morse Rabbi Benjamin Kahn, founda tion airector, traced the history of the foundation since its establish ment in 1935. He pointed out the double role of Hillel as ' one of the contributing agencies to the deepening of the religious and ethical preceptions of the students and is a vehicle for the trans mission of the Jewish cultural and religious heritage to succes sive generations of students. In his greetings, A. 0. Morse, provost, spoke of the importance of the liillel Foundation as a character-building agency and as a necessary supplement to th e studies in the classroom. Spring Dedication Set William M. Gerber, vice-presi dent of the Supreme Lodge of B'nai B'rith, was the principal speaker. He pointed out that the new Hillel house is one of 24 being built among the more than 204 foundations in the United States, Canada, and Israel.
