Patrol; command ed by' Captain Philip Mark, is the police force of the campus. The work - of- the patrol includes traffic direction, .the checking of buildings, and investigation of extraordinary happenings at the College. Forty-eight men make up the Campus Patrol," 30 .of which are students working part-time. The patrol also employs four day and 13 night patrolmen - - who - work full time. The force was organ ized in 1926 as a generalized watchman service. The 1)&01 is part of the de partment, of the physical plant and is governed by' regulations set up by the Board of Trustees. Applications for a position as patrolman - may be obtained- at the patrol 'office, 320 'Old. Main. The Associationi of Independent Men begins its fourth year on. campus this fall, its membership, being composed of all non-frat ernity men at the College. Controlled by a board of gov •ernors under .a constitution -insti ttitedlast year, AIM will be work ing to "consolidate the strength of the independent man toward a goal of seryice to himself, others;, and to the College, - which is a perpetual symbol of the service of past generations," according to John Laubach, AIM president. • Four Areas Represented ; ' The Board of Governors is com posed of presidents, vice- tiresi dents,• secretaries, and treasurers of the four men's dorm councils, as well as representatives-at-large elected •by men- in town,, and •in the• West Nittany, •and Pollock, dormitories. ' . Officers of this year's Board of GOvernors, elected last semester, are Laubach, president; • John StoUdt, vice-president, William Brown, secretary, and Ray Evert, treasurer. Laubach said the Board of Gov ernors must improve its, efforts to develop the ideas contributed from the various living -areas. The board of governors deter mines programs and policies for all four councils. It returns 40 percent of its income to the coun cils for their operation.
