On a government-sponsored teaching-coaching tour, Lawther reports that half of the young sters of high school age refuse to wear shoes when they, play. One oil company in Poza Rica bought hundreds of pairs of shoes but only a few players would wear them. One boy who walked in every day from the hills to practice in sisted that shoes made his feet sore. Meanwhile he was, playing on a concrete surface "finished very roughly to aid in traction.
