Bud Fenton Editor , Paul Poorman Sam Wayman Managing Editor Advertising Manager Bob Schooley Sports Editor Sam Procopio, Jane Reber'. loan Harvie All Is Quiet On Legion Front Little is heard from the camp that advocated investigation of College "subversive activities" last week. It cannot be called an enemy camp, for any group that is so zealous in its attempts to crush un-American a ctivities should be praised. However, at times such an organization can become over-eager, see things that are not, or jump too quickly. It is extremely possible that this is the case here. It seems more probable after the dead silence that crowded the air after President Eisenhower's statement of reply to the charges. Although the attack was unwarranted, as the President suggests, everyone does not share his optimism that the Pennsylvania American Le gion will not approve the request for inves tigation. If it could be passed by the local Legion which is closer to the College •than any other, it could conceivably be passed by the State body. The delegates of the Pennsylvania department of the Legion would do well to ask the why and wherefore of the resolution when it comes be fore their assembly. A close investigation of the request for in vestigation might save the Legion from some embarrassment later. A false cry or two now Could be a detriment to some worthwhile work of the organization in the future.
