PAGE EIGHT Colors, Flower Selected At Soph Meeting For the first time since 1915 a Penn State class will have a class flower and class colors. A handful of the sophomore class voted Wednesday night to make their class colors kelly green and white and" the class flower the white carnation. The class also voted to divide the $lOO appropriated by All-Col lege cabinet between the PSCA displaced persons fund and a gift of white carnations to the College chapel, probably on Mothers' day. Up. to $25 will be spent on the flower donation and the remain der will go to the DP fund. Wil liam Bair, sophomore class pres ident, said that there are 25 dis placed persons coming here next year and that at least $2,500 was needed to clothe them. Bair also said that no class has had its own class colors or flow ers since 1915 and that he hopes the tradition will come back. Michael Hanek, junior class presidpnt elect; won the sopho more class nomination for the "Ugly Man" contest sponsored by Alpha Phi Omega, service frater nity. A committee to investigate the cost of flowers and make arrange ments with the College chapel service will be appointed some time this week, Bair said. It was also suggested that the class col ors and flower be used in decorat ing for the Junior prom next fall. There was a great deal of dis cussion on the use of the $lOO appropriation before any decision was made. The 795 sea son tickets that were sold this year for the six speakers was a sizable increase over last year's sales, t he said. Coffee Hours Successful John Erickson, chairman of the coffee hour committee, reported that the coffee hour sessions had worked out successfully this year.
