PAGE EIGHT Baer Returns To Germany Otto Baer, German exchange student who attended the College last year, now is back in Ger many continuing his education at Hohenheim college. While he was at the College, Baer was the guest of Alpha Zeta fraternity. During his school Va cations, he found time to hitch hike throughout th e United States. During these trips, Baer photographed much o f th e scenery. From these photos he had colored slides made, which he took back to Germany with him. He later built a talk around these pictures. Baer recently gave a talk, using the sildes, at the American library in Stuttgart. Automotive Engineers To Hold Open Meeting The Society of Automotive En gineers will hold an open meeting for members and interested en gineering students tonight at 7:30 o'clock in the Lutheran Youth center, 412 W. April Deadline Set For Enrollment A deadline of April 15 has been set for enrollment in the Ful bright program for university lecturing and advanced research in East Asia and the Pacific area, Robert E. Galbraith, Fulbright adviser at the College, said last week. Approximately 70 awards will be given in the 1952-1953 pro gram, which provides work in New Zealand and Australia from March to November, 1952; in In dia and Pakistan from July, 1952 to April, 1953; and in the Philip pines, Burma, and Thailand from June, 1952 to March, 1953. Galbraith said that all persons interested in applying for lectur ing and post doctoral research assignments should write to the Executive secretary, Committee on International Exchange of Per sons, Conference Board of Asso ciated Research councils, 2101 Constitution avenue, Washington, D.C. Also, the councils would be included with the dean of men's office as those the elections chairman is respon sible to. It was also suggested that the new officers take over at the beginning of the last meeting of the _school year and that they attend all executive committee meetings and all board meetings from the time they are elected until installation. Present board members would relinquish their seats at the beginning of the first meeting after elections. Grant Provision A provision calling for a coun cil to show the necessity of any grant or loan given them, and that it be passed by a two-thirds vote of the membership was also suggested as was a maximum of $lOO for any grant or loan during the school year. A budget report would be required before any vote. The advisors were orought to the meeting as a result of criti cisms reported to board members of the program by residents of the dorm areas.
