PAGE TWO A• 4. Docey-Doe There are barn dances, hoe-downs, and square dances—and then there are the "Dutch" Sykes summer session square dances, ever increasing in popularity. The affair that was held in the TUB last Saturday night had all the looked-for and-seldom-found-features desired by hoe down enthusiasts. Several amplifiers strategically placed enabled the caller to be clearly understood at the remotest end of the TUB. Initiates to the "circle eight" addicts found no diffi culty with their docey-doe's. SATURDAY'S CROWD, the largest in attendance at any of the three summer square dances, found no slack to be taken up in the program. There were no dis interested groups gathered around the walls watching a few sets on the floor. The couples who hung around the edges were, in the main, awaiting their chance to form their own set. In all, the square dances are _examples of well-organized, informal entertainment. IF THE CROWDS GROW MUCH larger, moving the dance outside, possibly on the front campus, might be a consideration to work on. Of course, this would mean ad ditional work and worry, especially when a quick rain would bring the dance to a rude halt, and might ruin equipment. Congratulation, are in order for Sykes and his crew for offering a brand of enter tainment enjoyed by the 'gamut of students, Van Dorn To Speak At Federalist Picnic Harold Van Dorn, professor of political science at American University, will be guest speaker at a picnic supper meeting sponsored by the State College Chapter, United World Federalists, in Hort Woods, at 6 p.m. tomorrow.
