Science Group
Initiates 13
The Kappa chapter of Sigma
Gamma Epsilon, national profes
sional earth science fraternity, re
cently initiated 6 undergraduates
and 7 faculty associates.
Ceremonies preceded a ban
quet held in honor of the initiates,
at which Prof. Arthur H. Reede,
department of economics faculty
member, was guest speaker. New
officers also were elected.
• Undergraduates initiated are
Robert Aiken, Homer Harris,
Stanley Luft, John Rigone, Will
iam Stewart, and James Wasson.
Initiated faculty associates are
John Griffiths, John Hoffman,
James Magor, Shiou-Chuan-Sun,
Quinton Soprano, Ram Thakur,
and Raymond Zimmerman.

Kraft, secretary-treasurer; Robert

Leonides Gives
Intramural Pins
Leonides pin awards were re
cently given for participation in
intramural sports during the 1949-
50 season because of the excellent
record they made for the organ
ization.
Those receiving pins were: Sal
ly Greenberger, Nancy Hanna,
Joan Barnett, Helen Griffin, Lo
lita Mountjoy, Evelyn Laning,
Jane Lerew, Helen Rusinko, Jack
ie Schack, Phyllis Sones, Anne
Stork, and Dorothy Wain.

Zeta Tau Alpha sorority held
their Big-Little Sister Ceremony
recently, in the suite room.

Makielski, Bill Mack, Warren
Druetzler and Jack Dianetti have
best half mile times that add up
to 17 minutes 30 seconds, 4.6 sec
onds better than the world's rec
ord for the two-mile relay.
They'll be gunning for a new re
lay mark this spring.
Sigma Chi
On Saturday evening, Sigma
Chi held its annual Sweetheart
dance. Nancy Showers, Alpha
Chi Omega, who was elected
Sweetheart for 1950, was pre
sented with a trophy and a bou
quet of white roses.

Alpha Xi Delta held its an
nual Rose Dance Saturday night
with the Alpha Gamma Rho
fraternity. Nancy Shellenberger
was honored as the Model. Pledge.
She received a bouquet of pink
roses.

Alpha Omicron Pi sorority gave
a picnic for its senior members
at Whipples Dam. Entertainment
included skits, songs, and the pre
sentation of senior gifts.

1949 and is a research assistant
in earth sciences at the College.
