Stickmen Close Season With Ithaca and Cornell Coach Nick Thiel's Nittany stickmen will go after their third victory of the season this afternoon when they take on Ithaca College on the Ithacans home field. The Lion lacrossmen wind up their season tomorrow, traveling across town to take on the Big Red of Cornell. The Lions' chances for a double sweep were dimmed somewhat when it was learned yesterday that ace, midfielder, Jack Wilcox, would not make the trip .because of tonsilitis. But Thiel was still optimistic over his team's chances in the two games. "The loss of Wilcox will defi nitely hurt our attack, but if we play like we did it against Ho bart, and have been playing all week in practice, we'll win them both," he said. • Change Payed Off Thiel contributes the Lions' showing against Hobart to the re vision of the lineup which had Bud Wolfram, a regular attack man—playing at midfield and Ned Herring taking Wolfram's place on attack. "Herring played a good game against Hobart and Wolfram defi nitely bolstered our midfield," he said. Paul Raffensperger will fill Wilcox's spot in the first mid field. The husky junior has play ed extremely well in the last few games and may take up the scor ing slack left by the absence of the high scoring Wilcox. Ithaca is only in its second year of intercollegiate lacrosse com petition, and although the Bomb ers have a veteran outfit, they are "seriously lacking in experience." According to "Babe" Kraus, coach of the Hobart stickmen whose team just eked out a vic tory over the. Ithacans, the Bombers are getting stronger game by game, and might sur prise the Blue and White. • Starting Lineup The starting lineup for the Ith aca contest will, have Co-Captain OPEN.
