The Lions and the Red Devils traded markers in the first as each scored two runs on two hits. The Nittanies broke the game, wide open in the third with four runs on four hits, one a triple by Dalton Rumberger who was playing centerfield, two walks and a hit batsman. Dickinson came back with three runs in the fourth but State countered with three more in the bottom half of the inning. Neither side scored again until the seventh, when the Lions got a cheap run.
