PAGE EIGHT AP News—Courtesy WMAJ U.S. Demands Apology From Russia WASHINGTON—T h e United I States yesterday formally charg ed that Russian fighter planes shot down an unarmed American bomber over the Baltic Sea. The U. S. note to Moscow demands a Russian apology, punishment of the Red aviators and “ap propriate indemnity” for the loss of plane and personnel. The note rejected the Soviet claim that the Navy bomber had flown over Lativia and opened fire on the Russian fighters when ordered to land. To Exceed Budget WASHINGTON—The federal government is expected to go over six billion dollars beyond its budget by June 30, the end of the current fiscal year,. ac cording to the joint Senate-House committee on internal revenue. This is some one billion, 200 mil lion over the deficit predicted by President Truman in Janu ary. Undergraduate men will be given separate ballots for AA. voting. The balloting it self will be under supervision by the elections committee, and in fractions of the elections code can bring no less than nine and no more than 99-vote penalties. The polls will open at 9 o’clock this morning and will remain open until 5 o’clock this afternoon. The same time schedule will be in effect tomorrow. Students whose last names begin with A-L should use the lounge entrance to the right facing the stair in Old Main, and those in the M-Z group should enter on the left. Adequate direc tions within the lounge will be ' provided by the elections commit tee. Campaign The campaign proper consisted primarily of • speeches by candi dates in fraternities and dormi tory units, enlisting support for themselves and for their party platforms.
