The College was aware of his
New York activities when he

told him then that the Stuyves
ant Town affair did not concern
the College, Lorch stated.
Lorch had been recommended
for reappointment by Orrin
Frink, head of the math depart
ment. Last year he was dismiss
ed from a similar position at
City College of New York, with
no official reason given.
His statement hinted that Met
ropolitan Life Insurance com
pany, which owns Stuyvesant
Town, had interevened to pre
vent his reappointment here.
The AAUP is investigating
and has stated that reappoint
ment should be considered on
the basis of Lorch's qualifica
tions, not the issues he supports.
Lorch's statement said that a
committee might be set up to
work for his reappointment and
thus prevent possible blacklist
ing of the College by the AAUP.

The Penn State Christian-As

tonight will feature Dr. Neal
Riemer of the political science
department of the College as
speaker.
Dr. Riemer has chosen as his
topic "Public Policy and Demo
cratic Political Action." A dis
cussion will follow the talk and
