? '49 Grads Enter Cruel World
With the beginning of a new year each fall, many questions are
asked by upperclass students about those who have recently been
graduated into the "hard, cruel world."
As usual, marriage: seems to be the most popular occupation.
Several graduates who were outstanding at the College last year
and have been married this summer are Barbara Atkins and Jo Fox.

Susan Bissey is doing gradtiate

Phi Beta Kappa, town senator for
WSGA and a member of the
cheerleading squad.
Former president of WSGA,
Janet Lyons, worked at Shawnee
on-the-Delaware in charge of the
nursery this summer. Beside
heading WSGA, she was a mem
ber of Mortar Board, Cwens, and

Heyd and Marge Gorham. Lois

dents in American Universities
and Colleges. Marge who is teach
ing in Pensacola, Florida, was ac
tive in Players, secretary of
WSGA, and a member of Alpha
Lambda Delta and Cviens.
Frances Keeney, former Society
Editor of the Daily .Collegian, is
Society Editor of the Clearfield
newspaper. Outstanding in cam
pus publications, she was a mem
ber of the senior boards of. La
Vie and Critique, Student Hand
book, the IFC Newsletter, and
Theta Sigma Phi, national
women's journalism honorary.
Keefer
Bobby Keefer, also a niember of
the Daily Collegian staff last year,
is working for the classified sec
tion of The Daily. NeWs in Mc-
Keesport.
Nancy Ault, first national presi
dent of Chimes, a member of
Mortar Board, Treble Singers, and
Masquerettes, has her own tele
vision program on a Philadelphia
radio station.
Frances Welker has a posi
tion Nkrith the Civil Service in
Harrisburg. She was a member
of Alpha Lambda Delta, Judicial,
and Secretary-Treasurer of the
House of Representatives.
Lou Conte, managing editor of
the La Vie last year, is working
on the advertising staff, for the

Important Meeting
Panhellenic Council will hold
its first meeting of the year in
316 Sparks at 7 o'clock tonight,
Delores Jelacic, president of Pan-
Hel, announced yesterday.
All sorority representatives are
expected to attend and are asked
to contact their sorority rushing
advisors, who should also be pres
ent at the meeting.
Problems concerning the rush
ing calender and rushing policies
will be discussed, Miss Jelacic
said. As registration for all new
girls wishing to be rushed by

Organize Club Program .
• The first meeting of the WRA executive board will be held in
the WRA room in, White Hall, at 7 o'clock tonight. The board, which
administers the program of the association will meet to orgUnize
the beginning of socialized•recreational events for women, Virginia
Miller, WRA president, stated.

Club Program
Under the club activities pro
gram, students may take part in
badminton, bowling, bridge, dan
cing, fencing, golf, out-of-doors
activities, the Rifle Club, and the
Swimming Club. The intramural
program operates through,elimi
nations and a 'point system and
annually awards championships
in the various intramural 'events.
