PAGE FOUR Ott, Brown Head WSSF Drive, Solicit Funds For World Relief Under the leadership of Ernest Ott and Deane Brown, World Student Service Fund solicitors are now contacting students and faculty members for funds for world student relief. The major portion of this year's contributions will go to the Philippines for books and supplies badly needed by students there while the remaining sum will be directed to WSSF's general emer- gene.) , fund. The theme of the drive is "Invest in Tomorrow-- Today." WSSF Results Concrete results of last year's drive at the College were seen in two letters recently received by the WSSF committee from field secretaries in Asia and Europe. Th r o ugh their contributions, Penn State students and faculty members helped to support the Red Crescent Hospital in Tripli cane Madras, India, which was started by students and now treats about 2000 patients per month, most of them too poor to pay. Penn State contributions also provided 12 Polish tubercular students with care in a Swedish sanitorium. Of there, eight re covered, one died, and ,three are still receiving treatment. One of the patients to recover was a young doctor who plans now to devote her life to the study of tuberculosis and its cure. Both letters expressed thanks for the great boost Penn State had given them.
