PAGE FOUR Panhel Council Announces Tea for Sorority Pledges Panhellenic Council held its last meeting before the Christ mas holidays in the Kappa Alpha Theta house Tuesday night. Adel aide Finkleston, president, pre sided at the meeting. Peggy DeJure, co-chairman of the pledge tea committee, gave a report of the mass meeting of one active and one pledge from each sorority held last week. The tea will be held in the main lounge of Simmons from 2 to 4 p.m. Satur day, January 8. Attendance by pledges from all sororities is com pulsory. One active from each chapter who served on the mass committee is welcome at the tea, .although attendance by other sor ority actives is discouraged be cause of the numbers in volved. A second matter of business taken up at the meeting included reports from sorority representa tives as to how each chapter had voted on the proposed items ot a new rushing code. Gilda Grecco, chairman of the Panhel rushing committee received the tabula tions. New Rush Code Proposals Sororities defeated the idea of giving two uniform parties in each formal rush period. The proposed item of uniform invitations was accepted by a majority of the council members acting in accord ance with their respective soror ity wishes. Cutting down coke dates, send ing explanatory letters to all in coming girls and issuing a pre rush list were all accepted by the majority of sororities. Defeated were measures restricting coffee hours to suites, restricting rushing to weekends, and revising rush ing so as to hold it only during second semester. Representatives were asked to take back certain ideas for re-dis cussion in their sororities. These were having coke dates just in the afternoons, having uniform favors, having Wednesdays as si lent periods and having a board of advisors appointed to aid rush res. Miss Finkleston asked and gained approval of postponing the Panhellenic Workshop to Satur day, January 15, in order that it would not interfere with the pledge tea. Judy Dankster, representative from Panhel to the committee THE DAILY COLLEGIAN STATE COLLEGE. Miss Dankster also present ed a tentative plan of the activi ties for the “Week’’. Jim Duna way, Froth representative on the committee, supplemented the re port.
