Wesley Foundation of the Methodist Church, under the leader ship of the Rev. Bruce E. Gideon, has planned Sunday morning Sun day School classes in the upper room of the Foundation, where Mr. Montgomery, pastor of the Church, and Mr. Gideon, social pastor, will be introduced. Beginning at 5 p.m. will be the Student Friendly Hour, and Stu dent Supper, a 35c meal prepared and served by studenst. Worship in the upper room will follow. Mr. Gideon will show colored pic tures of Foundation activities of last year at the evening service. Westminster Foundation, at the Presbyterian Church, headed by the Rev. Donald W. Edel Addresses Sunday Chapel Dr. William W. Edel, president of Dickinson College, will speak at regular Sunday Chapel serv ices at the College, in Schwab Auditorium, 11 a.m. Sunday. His topic will be “Wisdom, One; Re quired for Graduation.” The Chapel service, non denominational in character, con sists of a simple devotional serv ice by the Chaplain,, the singing of familiar hymns, music by a student choir of 110 voices, and addresses by outstanding preach ers and laymen of all creeds. As the Choir has not been or ganized for this year, Maynard Hill, tenor, will sing a solo. Dr. Edel received the AB and D.D. degrees at Dickinson, and the S.T.B. degree from Boston University. He was ordained in the Methodist ministry in 1916 and served with the Chaplain’s Corps of the U.S. Navy from 1917 to 1946 when he retired with the rank of Captain. During World War n, Dr. Edel served as senior Chaplain at the Sampson Naval Base and later as the Area and Force Chaplain on the staff of the Com mander of the South Pacific. James T. Smith, acting chap lain of the College for the past two years, will continue in that capacity for the first semester. He had previously announced his resignation. TA.to.sDßr-HAM SCHAFFNER & MARX Chapel Choir Plans Tryouts Tryouts for Chapel Choir will be conducted for upperclass men and women next week, said Prof. Willa W. Taylor, director. Tenors will audition from 7 to 8 p. m. Monday and from 4 to 4:30 p. m. Tuseday. Tryouts for basses will be held from 8 to 9 p. m. Monday and from 4:30 to 5 p. m. Tuesday. Alto tryouts are scheduled from 3 to 3:30 p. m. and 7 to 8 p. m. Tuesday. Sopranos will be heard from 3:30 to 4 p. m. and 8 to 9 p. m. Tuesday. All tryouts will be held in 211 Carnegie Hall. More than 40 per cent of last year’s choir membership must be replaced because of graduation, said Mrs. Taylor. In addition to singing at each Sunday chapel service, the group will present a major choral work next spring. The choir’s first rehearsal will be held in Schwab Auditorium from 7 to 9 p. m. next Thursday. Unless otherwise indicated, all subsequent rehearsals will take place in 117 Carnegie Hall.
