For the Greyhounds, Linksmen Topple Georgetown, 6- 3 In Golf Opener Despite a strong. cold wind that played havoc with long drives. the Nittany golfers managed to defeat Georgetown. 6-3. in the first encounter of the season. It was the fourth loss of the current season for the Hoyas. the Washingtonians having won nine previous matches before meeting the Blue and White team. The Eastern Intercollegiate Golf Association tourney at Pittsburgh will be the Blue and White's job next weekend. Olympic hopefuls Jim Gehrdes and Lloyd Duff will run in the feature event of the meet, the 120-yard high hurdles. Both hurdlers have run their specialty event in less than :14.5 seconds, and since Gehrdes has been "hibernating" this Winter while.
