For Entertainment This Weekend Out of the Frying Pan PLAYER'S ARENA PRODUCTION CENTER STAGE THE DAILY COLLEGIAN, STATE COLLEGE, PENNSYLVANIA faithful followers of our present football "power house." WHAT IS THE SCOOP ON THIS BOWL BUSINESS? So far I have heard that we might play in any one of the New Year's Day Classics ranging from the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans to the Finger Bowl in Port Matilda. In my opinion. to play in one of these "over-rated" bowl games woul ' be an insult to the coaching staff and play ers of the greatest football team in Penn State history. I say this for several reasons but pri marily because it is impossible for us to play the only two teams in the country wh o have as much potential strength as we do. The records show that these two teams are none other than Mich igan and Notre Dame. Now don't get me wrong. I want to SEE a post season game but NOT with a hundred other Penn State rooters "deep in the heart of Texas" or way out in "Oklahoma." Why not play our own "blood rivals," the University o f Pennsylvania, in Frank lin Field with the proceeds going to some worthy charitable organization. Call it the "Charity Bowl" or something, but play a team where rivalry truly exists and right here in our own home state. Cabinet Agenda TO THE EDITOR: Following is the agenda for the next All-College Cabinet meeting on Thursday, November 19, 1941: ROLL CALL MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING REPORTS OF OFFICERS ADOPTION OF AGENDA OLD BUSINESS Report from Pollock Circle Investigating Com mittee Report from Co-op Committee Report from Committee to investigate possi bilities of Sunday entertainment Report from Committee on Hetzel Memorial Fund Report from Committee on Revision of Con stitution Report from Elections Committee Appointment of Representative to Committee on Racial Eauality NEW BUSINESS Mr. Jay Returns One of the most interesting events held at Schwab auditorium last season was the lecture movie On skiing by John Jay, well-known ' ski authority. Tonight Mr. Jay returns to Schwab with a new movie and talk on skiing. This year the Penns Valley Ski Club is again sponsoring the program with the proceeds going to the fund that will send the United States ski team to the 1948 Olympics. Unless enough funds are collected in the next month or two the U. S. ski team will not be able to make the trip to the competitions at St. Moritz. The skiers are not able to raise funds by exhibition matches as the wrestlers, boxers, etc., can. Their only way is through contributions and benefits. A $50,000 goal has been set to finance the team's trip to St. Moritz and the proceeds from the John Jay program tomorrow night will help the U. S. skiers to make that trip. Edit Shorts • Men simply must break the habit of going bareheaded, "a custom started by college men," was the edit of a fashion expert at a California style conference. . . . Considering the difference, however, between masculine and feminine re action to such "musts," we don't foresee any man rush to the local hatteries. $l.lO Including Tax —Victor M. Wein —Thomas 3.
