PAGE FOUR Between the Lions— (Continued from page two) lowing Wally Triplett's run to paydirt. Had the Nittanymen led by 20-14 instead of 21-14, many would have feared defeat by this single point margin. Fortunately, however, Czekaj enjoyed a per fect day and, consequently, the home crowd more comfortably enjoyed the game. LAST YEAR'S RECORD Last year, Ed kicked success fully 19 times out of 28 attempts and, in addition, booted a field goal against Syracuse. Few will forget his fake field goal attempt against West Virginia this year, when Elwood Petcliel, who was holding the ball, surprised the entire Mountaineer squad by spinning around and running for a first down on the three-yard stripe, instead of placing the pig skin on the_ white paper square for the three-point attempt. Following the Pitt game, Ed will begin an eight-week period of practice teaching at Williams port High School and in January this former Marine, who played his freshman year of football at George Washington, will receive his sheepskin. When quizzed about his future, Ed replied that he plans to return to the campus following his grad uation to work on his master's de gree. After that, look for him to teach the Hig's single wing to fu ture stars. FRATERNITY • CRESTED JEWELRY I FOR BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS GIFTS L. G. BALFOUR COMPANY LOCATED IN THE ATHLETIC STORE Back Again!
