Labor Pioneers The College appears to be placing its bets on ed ucation, not legislation, for results in labor-manage ment relations. Credit for pioneering in union sponsored stee labor institutes with summer sessions for its lead ers goes to the College. The first to hold the cour ses last year, eight universities have followed the College with like institutes. According to Anthony Luchek, abor expert at the College, many letters received from workers who attended the institute last summer boil down to two things The workers got a broader “utlook on their jobs. With a new understanding of industry they believe they can avoid many strikes and oth er difficulties.
