Seek Fourth Straight As...
Lacrossemen Meet Colgate,
Hobart in Weekend Matches
At full strength for the first
time since the Loyola game, the
Penn State lacrosse team leaves
this afternoon for a brace of week
end encounters with Colgate and
Hobart.
- Victorious in their last three
starts, the Lion stickmen are be
ginning to round into a more po
tent aggregation because of con
tinued practice sessions and early
season contest experience.
Coach Nick Thiel is confident of
a good showing against the New
York teams, and has high hopes
of capturing at least one of the
engagements.
RECENT DEFEATS
Colgate, who plays host to the
Lions at Hamilton at 4 o’clock to
morrow afternoon, dropped its
last two games, to Sampson and
Hobart. Sampson, drubbed by the
State lacrossemen 8-2 last week,
eked out a 7-6 win over the Red
Raiders.
On Saturday, the Thielmen
journey to Geneva for a 2:30
o’clock encounter with Hobart.
One of the top lacrosse schools in
the country, the Hobart squad
boasts a record of five wins and
two losses.
Coached by former stick great,
Fred Krause, the Hobartmen
boast two towers on defense in

The intramural office an
nounced yesterday a complete
change in the intramural tennis
doubles tournament schedule.
The deadline for first round
matches has been changed to May
18; for second round matches to
May 24; for third round matches
to May 27.
Labash Sparks
Beaver House Win
Led by John Labash, Beaver
House won the IMA Bowling
League playoff by taking six
games out of eight from second
half winner Nittany Den.
George Kryger’s 544 triple total
was high fo r the playoff game,
while Leo Manso r took top single
honors with a 202 game.
Rodger Nestor compiled the
highest average of all the league’s
participants by rolling 178
throughout the season’s matches.
Beaver House bowlers, league
champs, include Harry Debagian,
Paul Droder, John Labash, Leo
Mansor and Michael Nakonechny.

Trackmen Duel Balanced
Red Raider Cinuer Team
Chick Werner takes his Penn State track team to Hamilton, N.
Saturday, and will seek, against Colgate, the second Nittany Lion
victory in three starts.
Penh State dropped its first dual meet of the season to Michigan
State last week in the Lions’ only scheduled appearance on New
Beaver Field, and trounced Pitt at Pittsburgh two weeks ago.
The Lions will be counting on their top distance runners for
points against the Red Raiders,
who have a well-balanced team.

IM Soccer
The intramural soccer schedule
has reached the semi-finals with
Delta Upsilon and Alpha Gamma
Rho slated to battle it out for the
intramural title.
Delta. Upsilon outkicked Kappa
Sigma 1-0, to gain the semi-final
position.
Alpha Gamma Rho took Phi
Sigma Kappa in three overtime
periods 2-1. Fred Kretzer scored
both goals for the winners.
IM Golf
Third round winners of the in
tramural golf schedule were an
nounced today.
Phi Kappa ' Psi defeated Phi
Delta Theta, Phi Kappa Sigma
tripped Sigma Pi, Sigma Chi over
Theta Chi, Sigma Nu over Kappa
