Hitch Williams Wins Mid-Aflanlic AAU Run Penn State tranter a’ce Mitch Williams, wearing the colors of Overbrook A.A., of Philadelphia, captured' the Middle Atlantic AAU junior cross country crown yesterday, in the 35'th annual running of the event. Twenty-three year old Williams, a sophomore, covered the 6,000 meter course in ll minute, 27 sec onds to outpace a field of 48 cin dermen. Second place went to .llottin S't. Clair, <Tt\, representing Nativity C. C. of Philadelphia, who crossed the finish mark a sec ond behind Williams. Mariette, and iier family were homlbed out of their home and shelters three times during the war, leaving both of her parents homeless. When the Plan learned that the family was homeless and injured, they took Mariette and her younger sister to their Gellic Colony where they will be kept until their parents ore physically and financially able to care for them. 'Besides receiving Clothing and food' at the Colony, the two girls each month receive a box of toys, goodies, and clothing and letters from the Delta Gamma sisters. Zeta Tau Alpha has adopted Ant)je iKeesterman, a little Dutch girl of Hil, under the 'Foster Par ents’ Plan. Oldest of six children, Antje is receiving clothing as well as money from the Zetas. Her father was an active member of the underground movement until lie was seized by the Gestapo and* deported for slave labor. 'He died, and Antje and her mother were left with the responsibility of car ing for the five younger children. Seven Filipino orphans in Min danao whose parents were killed by the Japanese, are also being assisted by the Zetas. Lucia Tnevers, 13 and the eldest, wrote, to Jane Doner, student at the Col lege whose father is stationed in Mindanao. Lucia asked for help and now she is receiving it.
