Political Slates
Mystify Students
In History Classes
Student knowledge of state
and national political candidates
is very slight if two history 21
classes are a reliable cross sec
tion. Only 110% of the 93 students
polled knew the :fore• major
party candidates for Pennsylvania
governor and 'U. S. Senator, while
one third d`•d not know even one.
Among the 38 voting students,
however,. the knowledge was a
little higher, with nearly a fifth
knowing
.both slates and another
fifth returning blanks. The aver
erage voter knew two candidates;
the non-voting average was one.
Back your candidate in the elec
tion next Tuesday. A great deal of
work was done to make it possible
for you to go home to vote. Don't
make it all for nothing.
