Greene, who. holds the world's record for the 20-foot rope climb at 4-flat, did a slow 4:02 to bring his third national title and the seventh successive, rope climb championship to the College. Both Nolan and Taylor collect ed three goals apiece while Ernie Baer, .K4l, Kerwin and Rog Nes ter each Nittany scoring started early in the first quarter as Nolan gave a fast pass to . Taylor, and the left-hander swished it past the Rutgers' goalie into the net for the counter. The lacrossemen were able to chalk-up five more points before the half ended. Throughout the second quarter Coach Nick Thiel substituled freely. After opening the second half with the starting combination, who rifled the Rutgers' goal for three tallies in less than ten min utes, Thiel sent the regulars to the showers and finished the game with reserves. State Cindermen Win Tri-Meet Piling up sufficient points•by taking nine second-places, after capturing five firsts, Coach Chick Werner's Blue and White cindermen triumphed over Pitt and Maryland in the season's debut Saturday at New Beaver Field, 65, 49 1 / 2 , 391/2. Nittany tracksters were strong est in .field events, taking top spots in the shot put, javelin, and the high jurrup, while logging wins in the 12 , 0-yard high hurdles and 880• yard run. Pitt's Panthers took seven first places, including a triple win by Herb Douglas, the Pittsburgh N.A.A.U, ibroad jump champion, hit the tape ahead of the field in the 100-yard dash and 220-yard dash and took the broad jump with a leap of 22 feet 7 1 / 4 inches.
