White Hall open for Dry Dock, five women’s organizations Wave decided to do some thing about it. WSGA, Cwens, Junior Service' Board, Mortar Board, and Panhellenic Council have voted to sponsor Dry Dock in White Hall, and have sent an appeal to Dr. Carl P. Schott, who is in charge of 'the building. These women’s organizations are to be compli mented for their action. According to present re gulations, the only way Dry Dock could break the sanctum of White Hall is under the auspices- of a woman’s organization. WSGA, Fanhellenic Coun cil, and the honoraries, representing all Penn State women, realize the dire need for student re creation. But in taking this action, they also real ized that they would face faculty opposition-. WBA, on the other hand, refused to back Dry Dock be cause their adviser, Miss Marie Haidt, opposes opening White Hall to men. WRA, it appears, is influenced by one faculty member and not by the students they supposedly represent. The backing of women’s organizations is just the first step towards Dry Dock. The next move is up to the School of Physical Education faculty. If they, too, realize the unlimited values of White Hall to the student body, Collegian feels certain that they wall approve the proposed plan. $ >’t $ $ >;t >|{ »Jss »|j # & All editorials express the opinion of the writer and not necessarily those of the entire Collegian staff.
