He was em ployed by several industrial plants before jolnirig the College staff in -1942, leaving in 1944 to join the research and development depart , ment of the Carnegie-Illinois Steel Corporation at Pittsburgh'. .Professor 'Miller taught at the University of (Nebraska, Ohio State University, and Western Reserve before joining the Office of Strate gic Services in 1944, as head of the Far Eastern desk. His principal job' was the preparation of map intelli gence reports on the Ear Eastern countries. A graduate of Clarion State Teachers' College, he earned his- master’s degree at Nebraska, -atid his doctorate at Ohio State. Other new appointees follow • Alfred V. Overon, visiting pro fessor of educational administra tipn, for the period from October 20 to June 30, 1946. Professor Overon is associated with the Uni versity of North Dakota at the present time. •Merlin T. 'Henderson, associate professor of agronomy. Formerly an agent for the U. S. It works un der the National Panhellenic Coun cil and is composed of two repre sentatives from each sorority. Its pm’pose is to assist sororities to run smoothly, to solve common problems, to provide a foundation for cooperation among sororities, and to foster good will. The presidency rotates among the chapters in order of their dates of fouhding at the College. Seventeen sororities have chap ters at the College. Fourteen are national and three are local sorori- and Used ns Sororities At a time set by Panhellenic Council, formal rushing is con ducted by all sororities. Rushing is conducted according to the rules and regulations set up by Panhel lenic. A book is issued to all fresh men prior to rushing which ex plains the procedure. Ex-servicemen already know their way around at the College. Six of their number have beeh named class president's.
