Is -T THE COLLEGIAN Panhet Explains Rushing Code to Representatives; Announces Two Penalties Panhellenic's rushing code will be further explained to Panhel representatives and sorority pres idents at a meeting scheduled at Women's Building at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, announced Helen Mar tin, • retiring Panhel president. Ckies of the rushing code have been distributed to sorority wom en, freshmen, and new transfers. Recently elected Panhellenic officers were installed by Miss Martin Tuesday, and they will hold office for thei next three se mesters. Presidential and vice presidential offices go to sorori ties by a rotation program under which each sorority is represent ed in turn. At a special meeting of the Pan hellenic Executive Committee penalties were inflicted on Sigma. Delta Tau and Kappa Kappa Gamma for an infraction of the eligibility rule of the council. Both sororities neglected to check averages of initiates in the Dean of Womens' Office last fall. The penalty consists of no rush ing during the first week of scheduled rushing, no open houses, no attendance at Panhell enic tea, and removal of one for mal rushing party. The committee which decided the penalty was composed of Helen Martin, chairman, Janet Adam, Patricia Hallberg, and Bet sy Merkle. Advisors to the com mittee were Mrs. C. R. Gearhart, Miss Ruth E. Graham, Mrs. H. W. Loman, and Mrs. G. Streyffler. • Sorority, Shorts Alpha Epsilon Phi Alpha Epsilon Phi is planning a skating party for December 9. In connection with a national bond drive among Gamma Phi Betas, this chapter will have a booth in the Corner during the first week of December. The na tional goal is $500,000 for hospital equipment and $500,000 for reha bilitation of servicemen. Kappa Alpha Theta For the next two semesters Kappa Alpha Theta will be the sole support of their foster child William Watts, a small English re fugee.
