Letter from Barney . .
Neil Fleming, graduate manager
of •?i!lletics, was lucky enough to
get r V-mail letter from Barney
Plesser; former AA president and
campus big-wig. Barney is now
assistant athletic director at the
Canal Zone. He reported that the
type of athlete in the Army. is of
pretty. high caliber and the boxing
is the sport of his camp. "Unlike
foot'-)all in the States," he said, "it
is boxing that carries all the sports
and pays for them."
Barney ran into Bob Wasser,
former Penn Stater, in Cuba and
Alex Bougherie walked into his
office last week. Another former
.student, Dick Yohn, is in command
of a Naval vessel which is in the
Canal Zone at present.
