'Whitey Pyer who will probably start against Washington and Jef ferson •in a game here Saturday is the only veteran moundsman on the team. The other hurlers are sophomores, badly in need of ex perience. George McWilliams, first string catcher, who is in a good position to know pitchers, said that soph hurlers start on the mound too sure of themselves. "They try to throw the ball past the batters," he said. "Then when the opposition hits they lose confi dence 1- - ..nd blow up. I think a few more. games will get them used to it though, and we'll have some good pitching."
