PAGE FOOI College Will 'Train Coeds For Drafting Believing that coeds want to make a contribution to victory, the College will offer two defense courses to both men and women nut enrolled in the School of En gineering, according to Poll. Classes in airplane drafting, for which the only requirement is that students enrolling, plan to gradu ate upon completion of the course, will be given primarily for wo men. Drafting and blue print reading, components of the course, will be offered with no college credit and therefore may not be substituted for regular work. For admission to the ship lay out and drafting classes, students are required to have completed an engineering drawing course and one in mathematics through trigonometry. The course is de signed to prepare men and women for positions in ship building firms and naval drafting depart ents. No tuition or fees will be charg ed and students will be furnished with necessary equipment in both courses. For one week, beginning at 8 a. rn. Wednesday, June 17, sorority, freshman, and transfer Women may visit each other in houses, suites, dormitories, and on and off campus from 8 a. m. to 6 p. m. only. A strict "silent period" (similar to present association) will be in effect at all other hours. An "open house," in which sor orities open their doors to fresh men and transfers, will be held by each sorority from 4 to 5:30 p. in. Thursday, June 26. No invita tions will be issued, but all fresh men and transfers should attend as many "open houses" as pos sible, to become better 'acquaint ed with sorority women in each house. As decreed by Panhellenic Council, no house may offer fav ors; breakfast, lunch, dinner, and movie .dates are not permitted; and all coke dates will be on a dutch-treat basis.
