Bentley, assistant to the dean of women. Atherton Hall which tops the list, will house 347 coeds. Grange Dormitory will toe the home of 67 women, and 108 sorority women 'Will live in houses and suites noi in Atherton or Grange. Sherman Urges Coed Groups To Evaluate Old Activities THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK WSGA Stresses Defense Work Women’s organizations are ttrg td by Margaret K. Sherman- ’43, WSGA president, to eliminate un necessary activities end to replace them with defense projects in conjunction with WSGA’s war time policy. Miss Sherman Said that it is imperative for all coed groups to consider seriously the letters which they will receive from WSGA requesting that projects b‘e formulated with the purpose of contributing to the national war effort and of conserving time, money, :tnd energy. She also pointed out that, under the accelerated program, adequate rest and recreation are vital re quisites for successful work.' According to Miss Sherman, WSGA will continue its policies of considering petitions for com mittee appointments and office nominations, and "of inviting guests to Senate meetings. Spe cial late permissions will not be granted except for campus activi ties. Although modified to fit the new schedule, freshman orienta tion .plans are similar ito last year’s and include mixers spon sored by honorr.-ries. WSGA will probably publish a special book let for new coeds and strengthen transfer orientation, said Miss Sherman! A substitute'senior senator will be named -to replace Nancy E. Gosser ’43, who will not return for ithe Summer semester. Senate will meet in the WSGA room at 6:30 p. m.' Wednesday. Coeds To Prepare For Emergency To prepare for specific national emergency jobs, coeds are urged by the faculty committee in charge of considering courses for women in connection with the war, to elect ones which will prepare them for meeting the national emergency. Courses preparing for occupa tions such as abstractors, account ant clerks, meteorological assist ants, statistical clerks, stenogra phers, translators, and typists are being offered by the > School of Liberal Arts. Suitable courses for other im portant occupations are being giv en by Education, Home Economics, Physical Education, Agriculture, and Chemistry and Physics Schools.
