Especially will this be true when the election of winter sports managers comes up in March. . - 7 For example, .the 1943 varsity manager in boxing will be eliect ed from the. present junior assis tants but he'll be graduated in De 4 cember 1942 before the next box ing season- • comes around. In other wOrdS, he'll be boxing man lge,r froM March till December, aurin g which period boxing will be conspicuous by. its absence. 1 To get around this difficulty our graduate manager of athletics has devised ways and means to prepare our - managerial system for the "duration." First, the jun ior elected manager will get his varsity award without actually working in his senior year: Now comes the complex but workable scheme devised. In the early part of February, freshmen candidates will be call ed out to - serve as second assis tants. The latter, sophomores, will be ielected first assistants at that time and at the end of the season one of them will be elect ed varsity : manager for 1943. To make a long.story short, there will be • two 1943 boxing managers but only one will be here to do the job. All 'this sounds complicated but if you sleep :. on it a few nights •verything:...will become clear. Similar adjustment's will be made in other sports and if an emer gency arises and there won't be any student managers around, the ,coaches will have toL do the dirty Work _thtkras6ves 'along with the athletes.
