The polls will be open through the lunch and dinner hours. • ARTICLE IA Eligibility for Office All candidates must not have re ceived alOolow grade at the eight week-period to be 'eligible for elec tion to office. ARTICLE IV Method of Nomination Any regular freshman student meeting the above requirement shall be eligible for nomination for a class office. To be nominated, a candidate must file a petition with the chair man of the Eleptions Committee iby Monday, December 1, at 5 p. m. A-candidate for the position Of president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, orbistorian, must have a petition containing the signatures of at least 100. voters of which 75 must be boys t and" 25 girls of his or her class. Accompariiing.the petitions must be a statement of the platform. Blakeslee, junior class president, and Freshman Elections Commit tee chairman, announced this year's frosh election code, after it was approved last night by All- College 'Cabinet. Tuesday, Decem!ber 2, with a Freshman mass meeting. All can didates are required to be in pos session of their approved petitions before their campaign may be started. For each party that has running for a major office, the All-College Cabinet, through the Elections Committee, will supply posters containing the party platform and pictures of the major candidates. There will he no other expense whatsoet , er incurred for campaign ing. AA books will be punched by checkers and the voter's name will be cross ed off the list. Those who have lost their AA books or matriculation cards may be eligible to vote upon presenta tion of a note from Dean A. R. Warnock's office certifying that they are regularly enrolled fresh man students. Two year agriculture students in their first year may vote for the freshman offices. ARTICLE VII Party Affiliations Party affiliations, if any, of each candidate will be placed upon the ballot. It is not necessary, how ever, ,for each candidate to have a party affiliation. One approved member of each party designated by the party chairman, will be permitted to sit at a table in the lounge with mem bers of election committee for purpose of writing down names of every freshman who votes. ARTICLE VIII Violations Penalties for violation of code will be left to the discretion of the freshman election committee; the penalty not to exceed 50 votes. 1. Electioneering in Old Main while voting is in progress. 2. Conversation by party check ers with voters before voting. 3. House to house canvassing prior .to the stipulated time for campaign. 4. Faulty petitions or ineligible candidates. I 5. Unfair campaigning following an initial warning. 6. Use of cars or posters other than those provided by the com mittee. Jerome H.
