Dick was taught to fly at the State College Air Depot under the supervi sion of Sham , Lutz, pilot-manager, and completed the course and suc cessfully Passed the flight and writ ten examination for his pilot's li cense given by the Department of Commerce under the supervision of Russell Young, department inspector.
