Tuesday, November 3, 1931 • ATLANTA MINISTER TALKS AT CHAPEL , Re,. Thurman Asks Undergraduates Alumni To Heed Good Sense In Ever day Existence "From hour to hour keep awake," admonished Rev. Howard Thurman, student pastor at Spe'man and More house Colleges, Atlanta, Ga , in the chapel addiess to alumni and students in Schwab auditorium Sunday mous ing. Addressing a Penn State audience for the first time, Rersrend Thurman warned against an attitude of mind that makes us oblivious of the °idio my, commonplace thing¢ in life The world loses meaning for us when in our prnate lives we follow a course of conduct that is unworthy of our .good. sense, he said, in his ad dress, "The Tragedy of Dull Mind- cdness." If a man keeps calling the good things in life the bad things, he is soon unable to distinguish betneen sight and evil. "Is your life insignificant to you, does it seem to be a grinning skull and clossbones , " the speaker asked. "If it does, attach yourself to some thing worthwhile, for the key to life and to the significance of the world lies within ourselves," he said.
