Officially Admits More
Than 300 Members

tive boaid of the Alumni Association
officially admitted the new gioup of
alumni into the organization recently.
The new membeis will take act»vc
pail in the selection of the fust Alum
ni Council, and aie included m the
new districting plan which will divide
the country into forty-five sections.
The foiesters giaduated from four
year courses are found in all branch
es of forcstiy and allied fields. About
60 per cent of the giaduates are now
in forestry woik in all parts of the
countiy.
, The Mont Alto Forest School was
established in 1003 hy the late Dr. .T
T RothrocK, generally recognized as
the ‘father of Pennsylvania forestry.’
The forest school at Penn State was
established as a professional forest
school in 1005 as a department in the
School of Agnculturc.
As a lesult of the recent merger of j
the two schools the 'Pennsylvania!
State Forest School' was originated,,
uniting the equipment and facilities]
of both units Both plants me now |
used in training the foicstcrs, and the
coalition of the alumni bodies is the
last step in the complete union of the
two schools.
