    A New Fraternity
The local fraternity, Beta Alpha
Sigma, has succeeded in obtaining
a charter from the national frater
nity, Pi Kappa Alpha. Pi Kappa
Alpha was founded in Virginia,
March 1, 1868. At present it has
36 active chapters and 26 alumni

rhapters.
The Penn 'State chapter will con
stitute the Beta Alpha chapter and
will compost*the thirty-seventh
member of the organization.
'The installation will take place
on the tenth and eleventh of Octo
ber, and the following installation
committee will have charge of the
ceremony:
S. W. McCaitc, New York City;
R. H. Becker, New York Univer
sity; G. W. Schmidt, Rutgers Col
lege, F. T. Schermerhorn, Syracuse
University. The ceremony will
take place at the chapter house.
