The celebiation was given by the 1911 and 1912 Foresters in honor of the ietuin of Di. Baker to college. The fare, as sat clown on the very artistic and classy menu cards was a source of peat enjoyment to all, but more in teiesting still were the excellent talks given over the smoke rings by guests and • tinciergrachlates. Brunyate, president of the Forestry society, acted as toastmaster, and piovided the banqueters with an in teresting series of speech makers Mr. Forsythe 'll, expressed ad-: mirably the enthusiasm felt by all the men at the return of Dr. Baker, ' and welcomed him in the name of the upper classes to his forrr.er po- , sition. Mr. Schober 'l2, told the , life history of "The Highwaymen's I Club," and .of various other organi &awns which are advancing the cause of ' forestry. Prof. I.:eiguson gave a most interesting and humor ous talk on the interest shown by different classes of people in the work that is being done. Mr. Clark followed with a talk that was very pleasantly received. Prof Agee spoke of the' way to get out of dif ficulties that may arise, and gave some good sound advice to all the men. Dr. Buckhout desciibecl in interesting manner the growth of the ; Forest Scholl in the college, and the meat progress forestry is mak ing in the country Finally Di.. Baker delivered a talk abounding with enthusiasm and with wise coun sel. His talk was encouraging and, satisfying, and aroused the feeling amung ail the _men that they IN eie glad they were foresters and that they were again under the lcadei ship of so fine a captain. The banquet is significant not only for the fact that it shows the! pleasure felt by the men on Di Baket's return, but also that it inch cate, the point at whit h the men, t for the first time, have felt strong enough to unite in such a mannei. It marks d new stage in th r.• devel opment of the, school, arid shows that the c 11.152 is gaining continually ; in strength and unity Dr. Gillth id E Itertain; On Tuesday evening, Veb. 14, lli Riv Girlland, tint g2nkol. etoi of the Meek Drag store gave a smoket and reception to tho Trio bey, of foolball tam.
