He scored the touchdown _that beat Pitt last year and we hope he will witness the winning of that struggle this fall, While Wood and Heckel will hard ly be able to stay with us more than this week, McCleary is expect id to remain for the rest of the sea son. Excellent Vocal Work the Predominating Feature. The first of the' season's 'enter tainments given in the Y. M. C. A. course, was presented on Saturday evening by. the Dudley Buck Con cert company. The members of the company,—Miss Katherine Gal loway, Miss Victorine Hayes, Mis's Olive Scholey, Miss Henrietta Turell, and Mr. Edward K. Macrum gave a well balanced program, that ,was heartily received by the au dience. Several of the numbers were enthusiastically applauded, and all were excellently presented. The opening selection, "My Hero," from "The Chocolate Soldier" wa's given with good effect by the entire company. Miss Turelrs contraltosolo was most creditable; and the num ber following, consisting of various Grand Opera selections, was render ed with much life and spirit by the quartet. The baritone solo by Mr. Macrum, the Aria from Verdi's "Ernani," was also very good. The company scored a decided success in "Tenting Tonight on the Old Camp Ground," by Kitridge, and "Take Care" by Froelich. The singing was in excellent hatmony,l and evenly balanced throughout The solos by Miss Galloway and Miss Hayes were also well tender ed,7-"A Chinese Cracker," sung by the latter, being exceptionally in-' teresting The Hunting song by Kobbe,which closed the first half of the program, was ~ m ost pleasing to the audience and called foith strOng commendation. An entertaining duet was , heard in the "Letter Duet" from, the Chocolate 'Soldier", sung by Miss Hayes and Mr. Ma . crum. The "Fortune Telling Trio" from "Car men," received excellent treatment by Miss Gallowayi Miss Scholey, I and Miss Turell. As a finale the entire company sang selections froth National American songs. During' the program ' the audience continually gave and of pleasure and satsifaction, and it is generally I felt that, the first' number of the course was a successful one. On, Saturday evening next, Nov. 12, Mr. George A. Richardson of the University of Pennsylvania will deliver a lecture on "The History of Aviation." ~This lecture ,will be illustrated by a large number of I his CaCge, will orrer tre - prumisr". -- to — tre — o - ntr - urr the most interesting of the year. Richardson is the president of the intercollegiate Aeronautical As sociation of America, an association which is affiliated , with the National Council of the Aero club of Ameri ca and is the official representative of the college aero clubs of the country.
