The annual inter class debate held 1 Friday night between the ' Freshmen and Sophomore debaers, resulted in a decisive victory for the Sopho mores. The question selectea tor debate l was: Resolved, That Con gress should imthediately ,provide for the further strengthening of the Navy, and the °FI - eshmen debaters consisting of HI W. Saner, H F. Kraybill, D A. Matteson, with C. .1 ' Higgs as. alte i rnate, upheld the affirmative while the - Sophomore team composed of J. A. Kinney, c i G. M. DeHass, H. Mel fi nger, with J. Osura as alternate d fended the negative side. Good, clear, and logiCall arguments were ffered both pro anti con, but the- ophomores proved to the judgesi beyond a doubt and with the most 'conclusive evidence that congress should not immediately provide for the stren gthenina rvf the Navy. In rebuttal, -the affirMative were unable to satisfactorily break down the strong points set fortn in the contentions of the negative and the Freshmen were thus forced tb suffer the defeat, which they took in good spirit.
