COLLEGE NOTES. Dr. and Mrs. Erwin W. "Runkle spent the summer in lowa and 11l- Prof. and Mrs. J. P. Jackson spent a few days in Atlantic City and Philadelphia. Prof. C. D. Fehr traveled throughout the state in the interests of Penn School, of Chambersburg. Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin Gill en joyed seven weeks of the summer vacation at Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. Miss Nettie Cook, 'O7 was mar ried at her nome in Bellefonte to Ben R. Curry, of Beaver. Mr. Curry was a former instructor in the Chemistry Department. Miss Susan X. Becker has re turned to the library after a yew's absence and will take the place of Miss Bradley, who has been granted a year's leave of absence to study in Europe. W. C. Patterson, superintendent of grounds and buildings, was ap pointed by Gov. Stuart as a dele gate to the Farmers' National Con- gress which met in Madison, Mis., on Thursday of this week. Prof. F. L. Pattee and family visited at their former home in Bristol, New Hampshire. A part of the time was spent with a former State man, Prof. Monroe, at his cottage on Lake Winnepesaukee. Christian D. Herr, a prep of the 1910 class, was drowned in the Conestoga river at Rank's mill Saturday, July 25. Private services were held at his home, 411 W. Orange St., Lancaster, and in the afternoon at the church where nearly 1500 people were gathered. Dr. Samuel G. Dixon, state com missioner of health. has been se cured by Dr. Thomas F.
