COLLEGE NOTES. The Senior Mechamcals went to Altoona on Monday for a two oays' inspection of the shops there. There will be a meeting of the Senior class at 6.30 o'clock this evening, in Room 20 Eng. Building. The Groff Fund has shown a steady increase during the past week,the amount at the timethis went to press being approximately $650. Plans for the spring military drill have not yet been completed, but the work will probable be com menced during the week beginning March 30. The junior classes in metallurgy will go to Bellefonte on Saturday to inspect the blast furnaces. A special train will bring the party home, provided a sufficient number make the trip. The first half of the 1909 La Vie was sent to the printers last week, several days ahead of time. From all indications the book will com pare favorably with any of its prede cessors. On Saturday evening Professor and Mrs. Gilmore entertained the Senior "Farmers" at a six o'clock dinner at their home on Pugh street. Both Professor and Mrs. Gilmore have traveled extensively in the Orient, and the guests were greatly interested in listening to their experiences in Hawaii, _ the Philip pines, China and other points of in terest At a mass meeting of the students rooming in the dormitories held Friday evening several matters of general interest were discussed. The question of allowing the electric lights to be turned on all night was considered, and a committee was appointed to take up the matter with the college authorities The man ner of assigning the rooms at the end of each year and the question of fire protection for the dormitories were also discussed, and will be taken up with the proper authorities.
