Open Letters. The STATE COLLEGIAN invites letters, but the publication of a communication does not necessarily imply the endorsement of the sentiments contained therein. As a guaran tee of good faith, the writer's name must be signed, but will not be printed if so desired. Editor of the Collegian:— Having had occasion to go up in to the tower of "Old Main" re cently, I noticed that the inside faces of the clock are becoming badly cut up by inscriptions of various sorts, most of these be ing names of students, who, for reasons best known to themselves, have chosen this method of leaving their autographs in a prominent place. This is all very well for fellows who don't know better, but believe such a practice to be unworthy of college students. When a class leaves such a token of love and respect for their Alma Mater, one which is so useful and ornamental a gift as this clock, it would seem that the least that could be done would be to do noth ing which would mar the looks of their present; otherwise, there will be little inducement for classes in the future to remember their college in this way. To the men concerned, I would say, "Let the old clock alone," for this vandalism if per sisten in will ultimately show on the outside of the clock and will be a reproach to the respect of the fel lows toward their predecessors in the college. Senior. Mr. Broomell, who has acted as an assistant in the Experiment Sta tion, has resigned to take a position i 1 the Department of Agriculture at Harrisburg. The Harrisburg club will meet in Room 15, R:,ng. Bldg. at 6:30 p. m Saturday. W. T. DUNN THE STATE COLLEGIAN q I price. them that is similar to others--so ccrrnnarison is out t if place.
