Debate. On Friday evening, the 13th, at eight o'clock the first intercollegiate debate of the year will take place in the Auditorium. The question for debate is, Resolved, that the initia tive and referendum systems of en acting legislation should be adopted by Pennsylvania. Dickinson has the affirmative of the proposition. The speakers, in order named, are G. H. Ketterer, W. H. Davenport, and L.H. Chrisman, with John Shill ing as alternate. On the negative we have part, at least, of last year's team in Wentzel and Borland. The team which will meet Dickinson is comuosed of W. F. H. Wentzel. 'OB, M. Smith, 'll, and A. A. Borland, 'O9, with W. R. Lams, 'lO, as alternate. The team has been practicing long and hard, and will be a strong op ponent for Dickinson. On last Saturday night the second team, composed of H. H. McCready, 'lO, E. F. Palm, 'O9, C. E. Schuerr, 'lO, and W. L. McCoy, 'lO, alter nate, engaged in a practice debate the first team. A third alternate J. A. Shaw, 'll, has also been ap pointed and the three alternates form a team for practice debates with the first. The judges for the Dickinson de bate have not yet been chosen, but Professor F. L. THE STATE COLLEGIAN Farmers' Week The farmers' meeting at the col lege, known as Farmers' Week, which proved so successful last year. will be held again this year, January 1-9, inclusive. Last year's meeting proved unusually successful, there being no fewer than IcB visitors registered, coming from 36 counties. Tne enlargement and broadening of the school of Agricul ture and the addition of new in structors will help to make this year's gathering even more profita ble than that of last year. Among the subjects to be discussed are fertilizers, soils, seed selection, stock judging, breeding ana reeding, poultry, the horse, creamer y and dairy work forestry, orchard man agement, gardening, and home economics. The work will be thoroughly practical in every detail. Part of the time will be spent in lectures and discussion, while the remainder will be devoted to practical demonstra tions. A detailed program will be ready early in December. All who are interested in the work are urged to see or correspond with Prof. H. E. Van Norman.
