Breece, 'll. The W. U. P. Game. A crowd, estimated at 15000, saw State fight it out with W. U. P. on Thanksgiving at Pittsburg in .the final football game of the season. A 'though the teams were well matched, State put up a better ex hibition of football and the score of o to 0 against her nattily shows the real nature of the game.. Several times State was within scoring dis tance but each time the strong wind caused Vorhis' drop kick to miss the goal posts by a foot or two. W. U. P.'s score came in about the last two minutes of play on a forward pass from the 35 yard line. The pass was very long and it hit one of the W. U. P. men on the head and bounden across the goal line. After the scramble for the ball it was found that Campbell, of W. U. P., was hugging the pigskin and the officials declared a touchdown. The game was witnessed by a large number of State's undergradu ates, alumni and former students. There seems to be a growing custom that Pittsburg on Thanksging day is a general meeting place for all State men in that section. At the banquet tendered the team at the Fort Pitt Hotel, McCleary, one of the greatest halfbacks State has ever known, was unanimously chosen captain for next year.
