BENNETCH, SUBSCRIPTION. 01. 50 per year or $1.25 if paid within 30 days after Sate of subscription. THURSDAY, NOV. 28, 1907 EDITORIAL. Our college has now reached a stage in its development when an active alumni interest is essential to its future welfare. In response to this need a deeper concern is being manifested by graduates in the af fairs of their Alma Mater, as indi- cated by an increasing number of gifts, greater activity of the various alumni associations, and the larger interest of the individuals in the growth of the college. Plans are under way for a reorganization of the Alumni Association to enable it to keep in closer touch with its members and it is intended to or ganize clubs wherever there are enough State men to make such action possible. If you, Mr. Alum nus, are not already affiliated with any of the present groups, join the one nearest to you or write H. A. 'IHE STATE COLLEGIAN Leitzell, secretary, State College, Pa., about organizing a new club in your vicinity. Strong organizations are maintained in Harrisburg, Pitts burg, Boston. and New York City, and it is hoped to greatly increase the number within this college year. Our undergraduates, too, are in terested in your progress. Every issue of the Collegian devotes some space to alumni news and, begin ning with this issue, a special alumni number will be issued quarterly. These special numbers are designed to keep you in closer touch with af fairs at the college and with your friends and classmates. In return we ask you to keep us posted as to your location and progress. As the organ of the student body we extend a greeting and best wishes for your 'success. Notice. The regular subscription price of the Collegian is $1.50 per year. For those who wish to have the paper sent them during the remainder of the present year the price will be $1 00. Alumni can surely find no easier and better way of keeping in touch with each other than by subscribing for the paper. During the remainder of the year three other alumni num bers will be published, each of which we hope to make better than the preceding one. Enclose one dollar, tell us where you are and what you are doing, and you will be doing a favor both to us and to yourself. We believe that at the end of the year you will feel more than repaid. The W. U. P. Game. Before the paper reaches the out of town subscribers the Thanksgiv ing game with W. U. P. will have been played. As was the case last year the game will doubtless be a hard fought contest, yet we believe that there can be but one result. Although Captain Burns and his men have suffered serious injuries during the season to such an extent that the team has been mateiially weak ened, tirt spirit is still there, the spirit that will receive defeat only when defeat is inevitable. The Pittsburg Concert. The attention of State men living in or near Pittsburg is called to the fact that on Friday evening, Nov. 29, the combined musical clubs of the college will give an entertainment in the Pittsburg Conservatory or Music on Dithridge street. The clubs have been preparing for this con cert for several weeks and we be lieve that those who attend 'will be very well satisfied with the program that will be rendered. A NEW PRESIDENT Continued from page 1 strong personality, his resolute Fur pose, and his strict impartiality can not fail to win the enthusiastic sup port and admiration of the students and we can congraulate ourselves on being able to welcome Dr. Spatks as the president of the Pennsylvania State College.
