undertaken in the right spirit in the near future, we might have it ready for occupancy before the meeting of another Legislature, which will have so much to do that we can scarcely expect under any circumstances to get an appropriation in this direc tion. If I were to continue, however, to pw.ticularize as to our needs, I fear I would take more space than the scissoring editor of the Collegian will allow. I quite agree with a gentleman, prominent in cfficial life, who, driving over the campus witn me the other day, said, "You need twenty miliions of dollars here". I answered "Yes, and we'll get it in time." So we will. a hose of you who are able and willing will do your share - of it, as others of your number have al ready done, but we need some of it now. A large edition of the report of the landscape architect, giving the details of the arrangement of the campus and the grouping of new buildings, has been provided for and, if you are interested in the sub ject, I hope you will write for a copy. Although one will proba bly be sent to you as long as the edition may last, if you would en close a dollar with your request, we would be able to secure a second edition which would certainly sup ply all prospective demands. I anticipate stirring times at the next Commencement. If you can not come before that time, do not fail to arrange your affairs to make a visit to dear old "State" Com mencement week, Junel4-17, 1908. In the meantime, with gratitude for the past and enthusiasm for the future, let us, as in recent years, "For the glory of old State, For her founders strong and great, For the future that we wait, Raise the song! Raise the song !" With love and esteem, Very cor dially yours, James A. Beaver.
