    The Recent Debates
Our varsity debating team was de
feated by Dickinson College in the
final debate of the Intel collegiate
Debating League of Pennsylvania
last Friday evening. The chapel or
Franklin and Marshall college at
Lancaster, Pa., was chosen as
neutral ground for *he debate on the
important question : "Resolved,
That corporations engaged in for
eign or interstate commerce should
be licensed by the Federal Govern
ment and subject to its supervision
and control." Dickinson upheld
the affirmative, while State had the
negative. The large audience was
much interested in the good points
brought out by both sides. Our
men deserve great credit for their
untiring efforts in preparation fcr
this debate and ate to be congratt,
lated on the good impression they
made. 'This debate makes the Dicl- -
inson team champions of the league.
The presiding officer was Prof. J.
