Price Five Cents Fresh Win On Saturday evening, March 23, the freshman class once more dem onstrated its athletic supremacy over the sophomores in the annual basket ball game. As had been predicted this game proved one of the hottest and most exciting seen here in a long whi’e. Contrary to the general expectation the sophs had things much their own way during the first half, which ended 9 to 3 in their favor. But in the second half 1910 rallied in wonderful fash ion and won out chiefly on account of the splendid goal throwing of Hermann and Whitmoyer, although the entire five played great ball. The sophs also displayed excep tional ability but the speed de veloped by 1910 in the second period seemed too much for them. The cheering of both classes was of a high order, and despite the in tense class spirit and rivalry, the ab solutely clean and sportsmanlike conduct of every player on each side deserves the highest praise. For the sophomores Waha and Cro mer played the best game, and as referee, H. C. Mcllveen ’O7, gave universal satisfaction. The score: — 1909 12 1910-18 Reiter.
